One of Australia’s most outstanding journalists, Lenore Taylor, will appear with former publisher and literary agent, Mary Cunnane on Saturday April 6th.

Taylor began working as a journalist in 1987 at The Canberra Times and was later national affairs correspondent and then chief political correspondent at The Sydney Morning Herald before becoming The Guardian’s first political editor in 2013 and its editor in 2016.
She has won the ‘Scoop of the Year’ Walkley Award twice:
- 2010, for her reporting on the Ruddgovernment’s shelving of an emissions trading scheme
- 2014, for a joint report on Australian spying on the Indonesian government.
Other awards include:
- the 2014 Paul Lyneham Award for excellence in journalism
- the Federal Parliamentary Press Gallery Journalist of the Year in 2007 and 2014.
Taylor, who is a frequent panelist on ABC TV’s Insiders, published her first book, Shitstorm: Inside Labor’s Darkest Days, about Kevin Rudd‘s first term as Prime Minister, in 2010.

Mary Cunnane is a former Vice-President and Senior Editor at W.W. Norton & Company in New York and founded The Mary Cunnane Agency in Australia in 1999. She has also been Vice-President of the Sydney PEN Centre and the Australian Literary Agents Association, and was the recipient of a NSW Premier’s Literary Award in 2010. Mary has also served as the Advisory Publishing Editor for the Macquarie Pen Anthology Australian Literature Project.
